As if reciting an incantation, strong unison vocals bellow through this new single from Pleaser's upcoming album. Through abstract imagery, "Plunge" expresses the intensity of constantly fighting the dark. Guitars and drums sprint through its one minute and forty seconds run time, pushing a feeling of frantically thrashing against an ever-present chokehold force. In its brief respites there are also glimpses of lightness and relief. The end result is both one of desperation and solace.
In typical Pleaser fashion, it is not done without a spontaneous hint of glitzy metal stylings.This song presents Pleaser in their element and the musical ideas they love to express - a lightning surge of dark punk glamor, gone as quickly as it came.

A fantastic album. I can see why they didn't continue under the name The Evens, as it's a different sound with the bass added. Coriky is the Evens + Joe Lally from Fugazi on bass. If you can imagine The Evens with a slightly more funky, aggressive sound like Fugazi... that's what you get! And there's no way that can ever go wrong. What a great debut album!! smiledozer
